The WWE Loses a Legend: Paul Bearer Has Passed Away!

Another one bites the dust. William Alvin ‘Bill’ Moody, 58, former wrestler and manager passed away earlier this week. Best known for his portrayal of Paul Bearer, a funeral director and wrestling manager with the catch phrase “Ohhh yyyes.”

Moody suffered from several health ailments ranging from issues with his gallbladder to being morbidly obese. It’s unclear what contributed to his death at this time. The WWE released a statement saying:

“WWE is saddened to learn of the passing of William Moody, aka Paul Bearer. Our deepest condolences go out to Moody’s family, friends and fans.”

Managing talent such as Kane, Rick Ruder, Vader and Mankind, Moody is most remembered for his debut in 1991 as manager to the Undertaker. Members of the WWE have taken to twitter to express their condolences.

“Very sad about Paul Bearer, he was a great person and one of the original boys, he was what made wrestling great much love much respect.” – Hulk Hogan

“Rest in peace, Paul Bearer. You will never be forgotten. There will never be another.” – Triple H
