FOX Confirms Talks To Bring Back The X-Files

Do you still believe? Well prepare for some new adventures! FOX confirms the reboot of the beloved X-Files!

Last week, I brought you news that Gillian Anderson had put out the call to arms for fans of The X-Files to bring the show back! She did so in an episode of The Nerdist podcast with the hastag #XFiles2015. Well, my fellow X-Philes, FOX confirmed on Saturday that the network is interested in bring the show back!

FOX chairmen and CEOs Dana Walden and Gary Newman told Entertainment Weekly that they have been in talks with series creator Chris Carter. They also revealed they are hoping to bring back David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson to reprise the roles of our beloved Agents Mulder and Scully. Gary Newman said about FOX’s plans, “It’s true that we’ve had some conversations on X-Files. We’re hopeful of being able to bring that back at some point.”

Walden added: “Gary and I both worked [at 20th Century Fox Television] through the entire run ofThe X Files. It was a great experience. We’ve maintained good relationships with Chris, David and Gillian. We’re very hopeful, but it’s hard. The actors are very busy. They have a lot going on. Chris has a lot on his plate, so it’s just trying to carve out the time.” FOX execs also confirmed their plans to bring back Prison Break.

Clearly, we have reason to still believe. But make sure you keep that hashtag going on Twitter to let FOX know how much YOU want to see The X-Files return to primetime! Now, if we could just get them to bring back Firefly…
