Netflix’s hit Orange is the New Black follows a bunch of women in a New York prison paying for their crimes, but it looks like some crime has made its way off-screen and onto the set. Last week on October 30, OITNB was filming a scene for Season 2. As they wrapped filming for the night in Brooklyn, a thief decided to take a few things.
According to DNAinfo, the thief or group of thieves stole $4,000 worth of five-wire banded cables right in front of the Grace United Methodist Church in Park Slope. At the time, however, the area was open to the public and the cables were just lying on the ground.
Sounds like anyone could have walked on the open set without being recognized. The private security guard that was hired to watch over the set claimed to not see anything suspicious happening around the set. So far, no arrests have been made.
This wouldn’t fly on the show. I guess the thief isn’t aware of what the characters of Orange is the New Black are capable of doing to them.
