Terrorist group ISIS has beheaded a third Western captive: David Haines, a British aid worker.
The video of the execution features the same militant with the British accent who killed American journalists James Foley and Steven Sotloff. He is beheaded in a similar fashion to the previous videos.
This latest video was directed at British PM David Cameron, saying that “this British man has to pay the price for your promise, Cameron, to arm the Peshmerga against the Islamic State.”
It also condemns the prime minister’s decision to enter a coalition with the United States against their group, saying their “evil alliance with America, which continues to strike the Muslims of Iraq and most recently bombed the Haditha dam, will only accelerate your destruction and claim the role of the obedient lap dog.”
The militant continues and says that “If you, Cameron, persist in fighting the Islamic state then you, like your master Obama, will have the blood of your people on your hands.”
The end of the video shows a threat to behead another British humanitarian, Alan Henning.
Haines was threatened at the end of the video of Steven Sotloff’s execution. He was captured in Syria in March 2013. He is survived by two children and a loving wife.
David Cameron has tweeted his response to the video, condemning the act.
The murder of David Haines is an act of pure evil. My heart goes out to his family who have shown extraordinary courage and fortitude.

We will do everything in our power to hunt down these murderers and ensure they face justice, however long it takes.

The video comes just days after President Obama announced his plan to handle ISIS. The president has released a statement calling Haines’ death a “barbaric murder” and expressing support for his family. He went on to say that the United States will stand “shoulder-to-shoulder tonight with our close friend and ally in grief and resolve,” and that we will “work with the United Kingdom and a broad coalition of nations from the region and around the world to bring the perpetrators of this outrageous act to justice, and to degrade and destroy this threat to the people of our countries, the region and the world.”
Popwrapped expresses its condolences to the family of David Haines.
