Christopher Yost is no stranger to writing screenplays for heavily muscular superheroes wielding magical archaic weapons. First he penned the script for Thor:The Dark World and is set to continue with the screenplay for its follow-up, Thor: Ragnarok.
Now he is taking on 1980’s cartoon icon He-Man. Yost will be taking charge of the story for the reboot of its live action version, Masters Of The Universe.
The original film, based on the He-man animated series, starred Dolph Lundgren and the then up and coming actress named Courteney Cox.
If the movie faithfully follows the plot of the cartoon it is based on , it will center on Prince Adam , the son of the rulers of a distant planet named Eternia. He is granted super human powers when a sorceress gives him a sword that allows him to transform into He-Man. His main duty is to protect the Sorceress’ home, Castle Grayskull , which holds mystical secrets coveted by He-Man’s arch-nemesis, Skeletor.
