Tim Tebow Throws Proms For Those With Special Needs

Free agent football player Tim Tebow hosted a special night for more than 32,000 individuals with special needs with his Night To Shine proms!

Tim Tebow is a name that gets a lot of attention in the press—and not always because of his football skills. He is an individual that makes no qualms about sharing his beliefs and his interest in making the world a safe and special place for all people.

His Tim Tebow Foundation furthered this sentiment last week by hosting more than 200 “Night to Shine” proms throughout 48 states and eight countries for over 32,000 individuals with special needs.

The events, held February 12, were each hosted in churches and were staffed by more than 70,000 volunteers. Attendees were treated to booths where they could get their hair and make-up done, have their shoes shined and then walk a red carpet while getting their pictures taken by several photographers. Participants in Haiti and several different churches around New York were also lucky enough to meet Mr. Tebow himself—and pose for a few special photos.

There was plenty of music and dancing for everyone, as well as the opportunity to sing some karaoke. The Tim Tebow Foundation website reported that the second annual “Night to Shine” event had a 400% growth rate over last year–and one can only assume that such a fun night will continue on to greater success in the future.

Holding a prom for thousands of special people is truly just the tip of the iceberg for what the Tim Tebow Foundation provides for various individuals around the world. Their mission is:

To bring Faith, Hope and Love to those needing a brighter day in their darkest hour of need.  The Foundation utilizes the public platform that God has blessed Tim Tebow with to inspire and make a difference in people lives throughout the world.

The Foundation also supports helping those with life-threatening illnesses realize their dreams of meeting Mr. Tebow,  provides special play areas in various hospitals to let sick kids just feel like kids and help special needs orphans around the world with food, clothing and shelter.

There is no doubt that the “Night to Shine” proms brought many smiles to many fine and deserving people. It was truly their night to shine and show the world how very special they really are.
