Step aside Cupid, Tinder wants YOU to start firing off the arrows of love and become the next great matchmaker via their new “share” feature.
Have you ever been on Tinder and thought to yourself “Gee whiz, you would be perfect match for my friend!” or “Didn’t my buddy have the biggest crush on you?” Well I haven’t either but apparently someone has.
Tinder has announced on their blog that they are testing out a new feature called the “share” button in certain markets. Essentially it works like this:
After spending more time than you should investigating a well crafted Tinder profile, with the ease of tapping the “share” button you can send a link of the Tinder profile-in-question (Instead of a old fashioned screenshot) to a date-starved friend via text.
Your friend will then have the ability to swipe right or left on the profile, and if they did swipe right (they want to match) then your friend will appear on the other person’s recommendations. If the other person swipes right on your friend, prepare to break out the Barry White cause baby, we have a match!
The link is only live for 72 hours or 5 clicks, so act fast or risk love being lost forever!
If you don’t want your friends playing matchmaker for you don’t worry; Tinder allows you to opt out of being “Shared”.
Again, this is a test; time will tell if Tinder will actually full scale roll this feature out.
So what does this new feature mean for the single men and women of the world? It means that you have more opportunities to connect with people and your friends can help you find love! After all, sometimes your friends know what you like better than you do!
