Sad news in the journalism world: Tom Brokaw has been diagnosed with cancer.
The NBC News Special Correspondent has announced that he was diagnosed back in August with multiple myeloma. He is not letting his condition hold him back, though. Brokaw is still working through treatment, appearing on “NBC Nightly News with Brian Williams” and taking part in the NBC News’ Winter Olympics coverage.
In a statement about his diagnosis, Brokaw says, “I am very optimistic about the future and look forward to continuing my life, my work and adventures still to come,” also adding, “I am very grateful for the interest in my condition but I also hope everyone understands I wish to keep this a private matter.”
