Venture Into Olmec’s Temple In New Legends Of The Hidden Temple Trailer

Legends of the Hidden Temple, the popular 1990s Nickelodeon game show, returns this November with a new film. Kristina Atienza details the new movie here.

This fall, the choice is ours to decide if we want to venture into Olmec’s temple once more in Nickelodeon’s Legends of the Hidden Temple.

The newly released trailer gives us more of a glimpse into what we can expect to see in the new movie, showing how the game show people loved in the 90s is making a comeback in an epic new movie.

The temple still has the slightly creepy, abandoned feel, as we first get to see characters exploring the building’s depths. The quick glimpse of the location is totally what you’d expect: exotic, ancient and with a sense of mystery lurking behind every corner.

We get a quick glimpse of one of the characters finding a hidden key in the temple (who knows where it actually goes or what it can be used for), and, even better, we get to see Olmec’s new look for the movie!

If you grew up watching the game show, you remember how terrifying those temple guards could be. The movie won’t be forgetting them, it seems, because we also get a look at the guards transforming from stone statues into intense gentlemen you probably want to run away from.

The movie could also be providing some flashback material to show the temple’s past to possibly explain how the legend of the temple came to be.

There will be the return of some of the classic challenges, like traveling across the river, getting past what could be the Steps of Knowledge, and maybe even the assembly of the silver monkey that most never got to accomplish in the final challenge of the game show.

I might be a biased 90s kid, but the coolest part of the entire trailer isn’t the kids running through the temple trying to accomplish the challenges to stay alive, but rather the quick appearance of the original show’s host Kirk Fogg and the unforgettable voice of Olmec introducing himself at the very end.

Even if this new movie is meant for the new generation of kids and teens to enjoy, this new chance to see Olmec and the game show so many young adults enjoyed growing up is definitely something to be excited for.

Legends of the Hidden Temple will premiere on Nickelodeon on November 26.
