Good news for Whovians, we can still have a bit more time with the eleventh Doctor! This time in the form of an eBook.
A new Doctor Who eBook, titled Tales of Trenzalore, will share the final days of Matt Smith’s Doctor. The book is comprised of four tales, each one featuring a classic Who monster: “Let it Snow” by Justin Richardson, features the Ice Warriors, “An Apple a Day” by George Mann includes The Krynoids, Paul Finch’s “Strangers in the Outland” sees the return of the Autons, and Mark Morris’ “The Dreaming” includes the reappearance of the Mara.
These tales are set during the 900 years the Doctor spent defending the town of Christmas, as seen on the latest Christmas special “The Time of the Doctor”.
The book blurb reads:
“As it had been foretold, the armies of the Universe gathered at Trenzalore. Only one thing stood between the planet and destruction – the Doctor. For 900 years, he defended the planet, and the tiny town of Christmas, against the forces that would destroy it.This is a glimpse of just some of the terrors the people faced, the monstrous threats the Doctor defeated. These are the tales of the monsters who found themselves afraid – and of the one man who was not.”
You can pre-order Doctor Who: Tales of Trenzalore from BBC Books now.
Doctor Who‘s eighth season with new Doctor, Peter Capaldi, is set to return to our screens later this year.
