Trevor Douglas Talks “Think of Me”, Collaborating and More

On the rise artist, Trevor Douglas is finally making his return with a stunning new single, “Think of Me”. Though Trevor is no stranger to the music industry, it took quite sometime to find his sound, get a good circle of music industry people around him, and to know exactly what he was confident with.

Having made it to top 24 on American Idol XIV in 2015, Trevor was able to build a nice following and audience. After his run on Idol came to an end, Douglas then started releasing music of his own, releasing a total of 9 singles and 2 full length EP’s.

Additionally to that, Trevor has brought in over 2 Million streams on all DSP’s worldwide. When you listen to Trevor’s music, he leaves you hooked with his lyrics, addicting beats, and soft pop sound. It’s no secret that Douglas is an artist on the rise that you are going to keep your eyes glued to.

First off, congratulations on an epic return. As you know it’s be roughly two years since you put out a track. What was it that took you this amount of time before putting a track out?

Trevor (T): I put out a few singles with a band called Light Years Away between my EP and this next single, however, most of that time was spent trying to make sure I had the best possible team and the best possible songs. I spent a lot of time during this break exploring myself and my music and I feel like it’s really shown.

While you were away, what would you say you learned about yourself musically that you put into the development of this track?

T: Definitely spent a bunch of time just working on my skills as a producer and audio engineer since that’s where I feel I was lacking the most with my last project.

You worked a little with Devin Kennedy on this track, who we’ve been getting to know with his releases over the last few months. What was it like working with him and did he give you any tips or advice that you would like to take with you for not only this release, but future releases as well?

(T): Oh I actually worked really closely with Devin on this track. We co-wrote and co-produced it and was honestly such a great fun experience. He’s really knowledgeable about all things music too, so I often have a lot of questions to ask him, haha. We had a lot of fun working on this together so since then, we’ve wrote and produced a few other songs that I’m also hoping to release this year!

Additionally to the collaboration efforts with Devin, collaborations with other singer/songwriters and producers are a lot of the times key to growth in the industry. Are there any dream artists or songwriters that you would like to work with or even smaller artists on the rise?

(T): I have a LIST! Maggie Rogers, Post Malone, Charlie Puth, Carly Rae Jepsen, Chromeo. The list just goes on and on haha. I love collaborating with other artists and I feel like it’s a great opportunity to learn and grow from someone else.

‘Think Of Me’ lyrically seems like something a lot of us go through when it comes to finding love and dealing with relationships. Is this track inspired by personal experiences? Additionally, It’s no secret that this track will be a hit! What is next for Trevor Douglas and can we expect a full length album or EP soon?Thank you for speaking with PopWrapped.

(T): Aww thank you! Right now I’m just planning a lot of singles over the next year, but I’m really really excited about them. Thank you so much for having me!

“Think of Me” is out on all major streaming platforms, now. You can also follow along Trevor’s journey on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, as well as his Official Website.
