Calling all Gleeks! TVLine has dropped a bomb on the fandom in regards to season 5. According to TVLine, Glee is cutting down on its cast for the upcoming season. To many, this might come as no surprise as many of the cast’s characters have graduated from high school and have moved on. So who is no longer a series regular?
Getting demoted to guest stars are four original cast members Amber Riley (Mercedes), Harry Shum Jr. (Mike Chang), Mark Salling (Puck), and Heather Morris (Brittany), TVLine exclusively revealed today. Of the four being downgrade, Morris’s is the least expected as the actress is currently expecting her first child, and her character was given quite the send-off last season by being accepted to MIT early.
In addition to these four being relegated to guest star status, Dianna Agron’s Quinn Fabray will also not been seen next season saved a possible guest appearance at a later date. At this time, no news has been released of when she is expected back.
As for Riley, Shum Jr., Salling and Morris, the show does plan to have them possibly return for guest appearances (fingers crossed).
The hit dramedy Glee is set to make its return to our screens Thursday, September 19th on Fox! Keep checking in with us here at PopWrapped as we bring the latest Glee and Pop Culture news!
