Following attacks on high profile Twitter accounts including Burger King, Jeep and Associated Press, Twitter are rolling out a new SMS login authentication. The optional two-tier verification service, which can be employed in the settings tab under ‘account security’, will send the user a six-digit code when they have signed in, and a temporary password will be generated in order to use Twitter apps on other devices. Once the system has been activated, a different code will be sent via text message to the user’s phone each time they log in.
So tweeters, are you going to activate the new SMS login verification? Let us know your thoughts on this new system!
