The UK is set to Believe.

UKTV has struck a deal with Warner Brothers International Television Distribution for the rights to JJ Abrams and Alfonso Cuarón’s show, Believe. The series is set to premiere midseason in the US on NBC and will hit the UK’s Watch sometime in early 2014.

The show is written and produced by Cuarón (Harry Potter) with Abrams acting as executive producer. Labeled as a supernatural thriller, the series focuses on Bo (Johnny Sequoyah), a young girl with special abilities. To ensure her protection she is put under the care of Tate (Jake McLaughlin), an escaped death row inmate. Believe will consist of 13 one hour parts.

Also starring in the series are Kyle MacLachlan (Twin Peaks), Delroy Lindo (The Chicago Code) and Jamie Chung (Once Upon a Time).

Watch’s general manager, Steve Hornsey, couldn’t be happier with the addition. “Believe is packed full of mystery, intrigue and suspense, and comes from the extremely talented Alfonso Cuarón and J.J. Abrams, who are masters of their craft. The series, laced with intricate twists and turns, perfectly embodies Watch’s brand position of showcasing compelling, out of the ordinary programming.”
