As the world grieves for those lost when Malaysian Airlines Flight MH17 was shot down over Ukraine last week, a new video from UNICEF reminds us all that even during tragedy, hope and love still abound.

Several passengers on the plane were individuals who had dedicated their lives to fighting HIV/AIDS, and were actually en route to the International AIDS Conference.

UNICEF teamed up with pop songstress Katy Perry (also one of the organization’s ambassadors), whose hit “Unconditionally” is the soundtrack for the inspiring video. It features men, women, and children, black and white and every color in between, holding up chalkboards with their messages of love and positivity.

Perry posted her own message to her Facebook page, dedicating this beautiful campaign to those living with HIV/AIDS and every single victim aboard Flight MH17:

To the families and friends of those affected, our prayers are with you. And to those now watching over us, rest in peace.
