The University of Cambridge has received a $6.2 million donation for a professor to head a research center in the importance of play in education.
The goal is, “to make children’s lives better – and communities stronger – by making sure the fundamental value of play is understood, embraced and acted upon.”
This position will start around October, and they will see how important play is to education. The position title is “Professorship of Play in Education, Development, and Learning.” Can you imagine playing with LEGOs, or just playing all day to see how to incorporate that into the learning experience?
