Just when we thought Justin Bieber’s luck couldn’t possibly get worse, formal assault charges can now be added to the growing list of calamities.

As PopWrapped reported earlier tonight, Justin Beiber arrived back in Toronto today to turn himself into 52 Division in connection to a December 30th incident involving a limo driver. Toronto Police allege that Justin Bieber was one of six passengers picked up outside a Toronto nightclub and, en route to their hotel, one of the six passengers hit the limo driver in the back of the head several times.

In a statement released by Bieber’s Canadian lawyer Brian Greenspan stated, “Our position is that Mr. Bieber is innocent… As the matter is now before the courts, it would be inappropriate to address the specifics of either the allegation or the defense at this time.” Although he does believe that the assault charge laid against the “Confident” singer will be a summary offence, comparable to a misdemeanor in the United States.

Bieber was led out of the Toronto Police Station around 9:30 pm EST out the back exit and is scheduled to appear back in Toronto on March 10th in court at Old City Hall.
