Usher’s New Album Release Has Been Pushed Back Indefinitely

Usher has decided to spend more time on his upcoming album and won’t be releasing it this year. The record already has two singles in the charts.

Usher has dropped a couple of singles lately, namely “Good Kisser” and the Nicki Minaj-assisted “She Came To Give It To You”, while he also announced an upcoming tour, both signs of a new era and an album.

However, the singer took the decision to push back the record for the time being.

The album was supposed to come out some time this year and it has been obvious that he has spent a lot of time in the studio working on it with different producers and songwriters. It’s true that the released singles failed to make any short of significant impact on the radio or the charts, but he could still go on with the record and see how it goes.

Thankfully, no official announcement regarding the release had been made, so nothing was set anyway. Even the floating album title, UR, was mostly a result of assumption and rumors. The singer himself stated:

“The album isn’t scheduled anymore, I’ve basically taken it back. I’m taking my time with it. At the end of the day, all of this is just about having fun. You get in the studio [and] go with how you feel. It’s not about a specific topic or specific period of my life. I work on 40-50 songs in making an album. I haven’t finished the album enough to tell you what I’m talking about.”

So we are back to knowing nothing regarding the album’s release and we can only expect further details as soon as Usher is ready to bring it out.

This forthcoming LP will be his eighth and will follow Looking 4 Myself, which was released two years ago.
