Vanessa Hudgens, who rose to fame after starring as Gabriella Montez in Disney’s High School Musical, isn’t about the LA party scene. It’s safe to say she’s shed that Disney starlet image with some of the roles she’s taken on, but it seems she hasn’t been swept up by the partying lifestyle like some other young actresses are. And aside from some pretty controversial photos a few years ago, the young actress hasn’t had much controversy surrounding her.
We don’t see her in photos everyday leaving the hottest clubs in the early hours of the mornings and she revealed to Cosmo on Campus magazine that she just doesn’t enjoy “partying”. “I love dancing, but that’s as far as it goes. It’s tough because a lot of clubs are everything I loathe, especially in LA,” she tells the magazine. Hudgens attended Coachella earlier this year as well as other music festivals, and you can tell that she enjoys music and dancing, just like her Disney counterpart.
“They’re always very ego-filled and people get up to mischief. It’s just not a pure environment. I stay away from [drugs] because I know it’s smart to steer clear,” Hudgens confessed her opinion on the matter.
While her opinion on drugs and the LA party scene is clear, Hudgens also told the magazine that sometimes a bottle of wine helps her and her friends cope with their problems. “I love taking my girlfriends away from their worries and enjoying life with them. If there’s a problem, a bottle of wine goes a long way,” she explained. “It’s the same after a long week of filming – a glass of wine and a bit of chocolate makes me happy.”
