She’s conquered the Top 40 charts, she’s captivated the catwalk with her collections and now she’s set to take on the London High Street.
After months of negotiations, the Daily Mail reports that former Spice Girl, Victoria Beckham is to open her first clothing store in Central London. The store – located on Dover Street in the heart of London’s Mayfair fashion district – is set to sell her collection of clothes and handbags. Currently only available online and in selected fashion outlets, the new store will provide fashionistas unprecedented access to Beckham’s designs.
It appears that opening a boutique in the area has long been on Beckham’s radar. In an interview with Vogue in April, she said, “This is where I want to have my first store. I’d like to do something that is really new, really fresh. Something a little bit conceptual – but not too much.”
Beckham’s designs have found favour with some of Hollywood’s biggest stars with Beyoncé, Gwyneth Paltrow, Carol Vorderman, Cameron Diaz, Drew Barrymore and Elle Macpherson all being seen in her dresses.
The Daily Mail quotes a source close to Beckham as saying, “[Victoria’s] really excited about getting things moving quickly. Obviously there is still a lot to do, but the hope is to open the store properly early next year with one of the biggest fashion parties of the year.”
Sounds like a party we’d want an invite to.
