Vin Diesel has made a truly touching homage to a late friend.
Diesel decided to name his newborn daughter “Pauline” to honor the memory of his Fast and Furious co-star, Paul Walker. Walker was killed in an auto accident in 2013.
Diesel made the name public on March 23 on NBC’s Today show. He told anchor Natalie Morales, “There’s no other person that I’m thinking about as I’m cutting this umbilical cord. I knew he was there and I felt like, you know, a way to keep his memory a part of my memory, a part of my world.”
Diesel added that he specifically decided to share the very personal news with Morales because he trusted her. “I’m telling you this because I love you,” he explained. “I know that you are a good soul, and I know that this is in good hands.”
Pauline, who was born on March 16, is the third child for Diesel and his longtime girlfriend Paloma Jiménez.
