It’s enough to break any fan’s heart.

In a recent conversation with The Hollywood Reporter, Vin Diesel revealed that he was on the brink of homelessness when filming the upcoming movie, Riddick.

“I had to leverage my house. If we didn’t finish the film, I would be homeless,” the A-lister divulged.

Riddick is to be the third chapter in a series of sci-fi films beginning with the 2000 cult sensation, Pitch Black, and 2004 smash, The Chronicles of Riddick.

Diesel elaborated on why he wanted to make the sequel so badly, relaying the story of how a fan told him: “We want a rated-R movie and we’d be willing to pay $10 each. Surely you’d have enough to make it then?”

“Something about that comment made me think, bless their heart, and if I can do anything with this new-found success, if I could do anything at all, I could deliver on that wish.”

What a nice dude.

Fans will now only have to wait a couple more weeks for Riddick as it opens September 4 in the UK and September 6 in the US.

The film centers around Diesel’s character as he fights an race of alien predators on a far off planet.
