Walking Dead Actor Joins Guardians of the Galaxy!

Michael Rooker has graduated from zombies to superheroes. The 58-year old actor who recently portrayed Merle Dixon on AMC’s The Walking Dead has been cast as Yondu, a hunter of a primitive tribe native to the planet Centauri IV in Marvel’s newest movie, Guardians of the Galaxy.

Rooker is one of the four founding superheroes in the movie. He will be working with Zoe Saldana, Chris Pratt and WWE’s Dave Bautista.  Rooker has also starred in JFK, Jumper, Tombstone, Mississippi Burning and Days of Thunder.

The movie is expected to hit theaters August 1, 2014.
