You all probably remember Laurie Holden as Andrea in The Walking Dead. It turns out this young woman is more than just a beautiful lady and a talented actress, as she managed to go undercover and save a great number of sex slaves – for real.
The actress has a second job, and that is one of a human activist in Operation Underground Railroad. Run by Tim Ballard, an ex CIA agent, the group looks to stop any short of human markets.
After an incident with trafficking in underaged girls for prostitution occured in Colombia, the group threw a party at a mansion to attract the men behind the deals. Ballard negotiated a fake deal with the traffickers, while Colombian Law Enforcement and a film crew were hiding there. All the illegal actions were caught on tape and the police got to arrest those hideous men.
Laurie Holden was heavily involved in the case and a total of 55 girls ended up safe and away from the sex traffickers. It’s truly inspiring how the work of such organisations can save people’s lives and congratulations need to be given when truly deserved.
