Is there a spirit here with us? In many paranormal related films, a Ouija (pronounced wee-jee) Board is typically incorporated briefly to connect people to spirits from beyond. In this particular instance, the Hasbro board game is getting a film of its very own! Does this remind anyone of Jumanji?
Ouija centers on a group of teenagers who activate the spirit board’s connection to demonic entities, with their greatest fears becoming reality. The trailer provides some run-of-the-mill scares, but seems to involve the fun elements horror movies can use to entertain, besides sheer terror and gore.
Ouija stars Olivia Cooke (Bates Motel), Shelly Hennig (The Secret Circle, Teen Wolf), and Matthew Settle (Gossip Girl, I Still Know What You Did Last Summer). The film is projected to release October 24th, just in time for Halloween, my fellow horror fans! Ouija is produced by Michael Bay and Brad Fuller, who co-own Platinum Dunes (Texas Chainsaw Massacre, Nightmare On Elm Street) along with Jason Blum (Insidious, The Purge).
Will you find yourself rushing to see the board game to film adaptation in theaters?
