Grab your pitch pipes, do some vertical running, and hands in! It’s looking like all the Barden Bellas are making their aca-comeback.
In a recent interview, Rebel Wilson— aka Fat Amy— teased that some of the original Bellas from Pitch Perfect would be returning for the sequel. Beca (Anna Kendrick) and Amy started their singing careers as freshmen in the first movie, but it looks like this second one is doing a little time leap.
“I think we start the booty camp in April, where we sing and dance and learn all the routines,” she says. “Last time, two years ago when we shot the first one, we just had so much fun doing that.”
Wilson said the sequel would feature the two characters as exiting seniors in the new movie, set to be directed by the original producer, Elizabeth Banks.
“I think it’s looking like all the original Bellas are back. We’re graduating seniors this time around. In the first movie we were freshmen coming into the group, and now myself and Anna Kendrick are graduating seniors.”
The movie is set for a 2015 release. No word yet on what music will be included in the sequel, but we can only hope it’ll be aca-awesome.
