Who Won Big At Last Night’s BET Awards?!

There were a lot of big winners in music and acting last night courtesy of the 13th Annual BET Awards.

The big winner of the night was hip-hop artist Drake, who won both the Coca-Cola’s Viewer Choice Award and Video of the Year for “Started from the Bottom”. He also shared the Best Collaboration Award with A$AP Rocky, 2 Chainz and Kendrick Lamar for their hit single: “Problems.”

Besides sharing the Best Collaboration Award with Drake, Mr. Lamar picked up both the Best Male Hip-Hop Artist and Best New Artist awards.

Former American Idol judge and “Starships” singer Nicki Minaj strutted away with the Best Female Hip-Hop Artist Award. She beat artists Eve and Azealia Banks for the honor.

Two races that were too close to call were Best Male R&B Artist and Best Female R&B Artist. Despite strong showings from Justin Timberlake, Usher and Chris Brown, the Grammys’ favorite son, Miguel was able to walk away with the trophy.  

In a three-way between three of Jay-Z’s favorite superstars, His “Umbrella” collaborator, Rihanna, won the Best Female R&B Artist. She  crushed the chances of his wife, Beyoncé and close friend Alicia Keys of winning their fifth and fourth award respectfully.

Seattle natives and YouTube sensations Macklemore and Ryan Lewis. They bested Mary Mary, Mindless Behavior and Slaughterhouse to take home the Best Group Award.

Over in the Acting categories, Scandal’sKerry Washington finally broke her losing streak and won the Best Actress Award. Oscar winner Jamie Foxx took home his second Best Actor Award for the first time in eight years.

Music legend Charlie Wilson received the BET Lifetime Achievement Award. This was after touching tributes from India.Aire, Jamie Foxx and fellow music icon Stevie Wonder. 

Miami Heat’s own Dwayne Wade received the BET Humanitarian Award for his work with the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and his foundation, the Wade’s World Foundation.

In addition to the awards, there were several high profile performances from Ciara, R.Kelly, Robin Thicke, Justin Timberlake and Mariah Carey.
