Earlier this week, Hollywood and fans all over the world were devastated to learn of the passing of legendary filmmaker, Mike Nichols, who died in his home suddenly at the age of 83.

The ladies of The View were set to pay tribute to Mike, but Whoopi Goldberg was reduced to tears, and Nicolle Wallace had to take over for the moderator.

I’m pretty sure everyone was right there with her.

Rosie O’Donnell revealed to the audience and fans at home that Mike was actually the one who discovered Whoopi, which makes us all understand why she was so emotional.
