You best believe PopWrapped will be watching!!!

Tonight (June 8), the Tony Awards will be handed out to the theatre’s biggest and best, as the stars come out to support their colleagues and friends.

It could also be the night my beloved Audra McDonald makes HISTORY:

McDonalds is currently sitting VERY pretty with 5 Tony Awards (which puts her tied with the legendary Angela Lansbury for most Tony wins; Julie Harris has six, but one was a lifetime achievement). So, if she wins tonight for her role as Billie Holiday in Lady Day At Emerson’s Bar & Grill, it would give her a record breaking 6th Tony.

That’s not all, though.

If she wins, it will make her the first performer to take home a Tony in all 4 acting categories:

She has previously won for Featured Actress in a Musical, Leading Actress in a Musical, and Featured Actress in a Play. Tonight’s win in the Leading Actress in a Play category is all she needs to make history.

This woman is a powerhouse performer, and I can’t think of ANYONE better to make history!!

PopGoesTheArts is rooting for you, Audra!!!!

Check out some of her previous performances below:

(PS: Notice the little girl in the “Ragtime” piece? It’s Glee star Lea Michele!!)
