It has been recently revealed by the reigning Pop Princess that Prism will no longer include any “blackness”.
This goes against her earlier claims that was the route it was heading. Perry had said that she chose to name the new album Prism after she made the decision to shift all of the somber material into lively music.
Katy said to MTV: “There’s not really any blackness on the album. There are definitely some composition and colors but I think I was saying that when I was going through a offbeat stage but I really let that brightness in. I felt very vibrant because of that; I feel like now I finally get to display these songs to the world and it’s almost I get to emit these colors I experienced.”
Her new single “Roar” has risen to number two on the US Hot 100 music chart. It will finally be available to purchase in the UK on September 8th. It is currently available for purchase in the US.
Prism is available to buy worldwide on October 22nd.
