Will The “Friend’s Curse” Follow David Schwimmer In His Return To TV?

NULL

Shane Avery

Staff Writer

The man responsible for Ross Geller, David Schwimmer, will be making his return to television, as the pilot for his new show Irreversible has been given the green light to move forward.

Schwimmer has officially signed on as the male lead for the possible series, as Andy, who along with his wife Sarah, deal with their own trials and tribulations (mostly brought on by themselves). The series will be similar to Curb Your Enthusiasm, with minor improvisations.

Irreversible is based on Israeli series Bilti Hafich, which instantly became a hit when it debuted last January, scoring the #1 comedy slot for Israeli broadcast TV. It was quickly picked up for a 2nd season renewal.

Schwimmer is also executive producer for the series, but this marks his first real starring role since the beloved Friends came to an end 10 years ago.

Since Friends ended, Schwimmer has stuck to directing, and has only briefly guest starred on former co-star Lisa Kudrow’s web series, his only on-screen credit since playing Ross Geller in the long-running series.

While some of his other cast mates have found some success (Matt LeBlanc – Episodes, Courteney Cox Cougar Town), maybe this is David’s time to find his way back into the spotlight.

What do you guys think? Are you excited for David’s to the small screen?
