Over the past 13 years, Marvel Studios has been able to attract some of the biggest action stars of all-time (Hugh Jackman, Robert Downey, Jr. & Samuel L. Jackson) to join the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
But will they be able to add a Fast and Furious star to the Marvel Studios family?
Variety’s Justin Kroll reported earlier this week that Vin Diesel posted on Facebook that the House of Ideas has requested a meeting.
“No idea what for,” Diesel wrote. “”You probably know better than me.”
Captain America 2, Guardians of the Galaxy, Ant-Man and two sequels to the Avengers on the docket for the next four years, there are many roles that the XXX star could portray.
Since that announcement, multiple blogs and websites have gone on a field day speculating on what famous or infamous characters Diesel could bring to the Silver Screen.
MTV’s Brett White recommended that Marvel complete its Guardians of the Galaxy casting by having the action star play one of its more interesting characters.
“He could easily provide Groot’s voice,” wrote White. “Diesel has a pretty signature growl, one that could really inject the required amount of life into what will be one of Marvel’s first all-CGI characters.”
Meanwhile, Kroll suggested that Diesel should take a walk to the dark side as The Avengers’ big bad.
“Joss Whedon has still not cast the role of Thanos in The Avengers 2,” Kroll wrote. “Casting is up and running on that project. A big name like Diesel’s would certainly excite fans of the series.”
