Every Saturday, fans of the Iron Throne and those who fight for it turn on their TVs and wait for the inevitable bloodbath. The opening sequence is an inspiring piece of art, instilling the audience with equal parts pride and apprehension. We know what happened the previous week, and we know the next hour could just make everything worse.
To lighten the burden of all of these secrets and plot lines, and to answer some basic character questions, The Will Wheaton Project recreated the iconic title sequence…in true Brady Bunch fashion. That’s right: blue boxes, moving heads, forced laughter, the whole nine yards.
It’s even funnier when you’re familiar with the original Brady Bunch sequence and show. Some of the revamped lyrics include: “Here’s the story of a lovely lady, who was bringing up three kids, one a pest. He had hair of gold like his uncle, because of incest.”
If you don’t know to whom these lyrics are referring, I recommend a healthy dose of season one.
Wheaton claims he created this video to help fans keep track of the crazy family trees and relationships common in Westeros and the lands beyond the water.
The lyrics are also pretty damn funny: “Till the one day when these ladies met these fellows, and they slipped each other very graphic bones. And this group, would somehow murder families. That’s the way we all play the Game of Thrones!”
