Many have tried to bring back and revive the Amazon princess, Wonder Woman, to the small screen and it looks like Wonder Woman will be back later this month. But no one new will be taking on the role if that’s what you’re wondering.
MeTV will be airing the series that made a mark in the 1970s. Lynda Carter starred as Diana Prince AKA Wonder Woman, from 1975-1979, and she will always be known for her iconic portrayal of the Justice League lady.
Since then, Wonder Woman has appeared animated and there have been two notable attempts at reviving the super hero. NBC released a pilot in 2011 starring Adrianne Palicki, but no other episodes were ordered.
The CW also attempted to recreate the classic series/super hero with a prequel called Amazon; however that pilot was not picked up. Earlier this year, some CW reps said that it is definitely still in development for the next pilot season, but with the Flash (Grant Gustin) on his way to a possible series, Amazon probably won’t see the light of day for a while.
MeTV has brought many classics back including Gilligan’s Island, Bonanza, The Brady Bunch and Batman. Are you excited to see Wonder Woman back in action? If so catch the pilot episode on December 27th as it joins MeTV’s Saturday line-up.
