This year’s installment of the WWE 2K series will be delayed on PS4 and Xbox One, according to a statement from 2K Sport’s in-house development studio, Visual Concepts.
Originally scheduled for launch on October 28th, fans will now have to wait until November 18th to get down to wrestling in 1080p. This comes after a long debate regarding the promotional material for WWE 2k15, which features former wrestler CM Punk. Punk left the wrestling entertainment company in January 2014 and still remains as the main promotional icon for the WWE franchise. Although the developer stated there was no threat of a lawsuit from CM Punk, they were strongly considering removing him from the game and its promotional material.
Greg Thomas, Visual Concepts president had the following to say regarding the delay on next-gen consoles:
“The additional development time enables our talented teams to ensure the WWE 2K15 next-gen experience fully meets our expectations.”
The release date for WWE 2K15 on PS3 and Xbox 360 remains the same, though, so make sure to grab your copy on October 28th. This is the first title in the popular 2K wrestling series to feature on Xbox One and PS4, so do you mind waiting a few more weeks in order to get the best experience possible? Let us know!
