Yesterday, Batfans we treated to a few grainy, cellphone pictures of the new Zach Snyder era Batmobile. Well, Zach and the studio decided that, despite how badass and wild the mud-caked vehicle might have looked to some, there should be a better image of it out there.
Released via his twitter account, his usual official outlet to drop goodies from the production of Batman Vs Superman: Dawn Of Justice, Snyder’s reveal comes with a mild fandom controversy front and center–namely the rotating double gun turret.

While some fans and websites are worrying about how and why they are there – since Batman has had some long-standing reservations about guns – others are quick to point out that even the Keaton/Burton era Batmobile and Nolan/Bale era Batcycle had such weaponry and that almost all his “wonderful toys” are originally designed for military applications. The new design may be less tank-like than the previous “tumbler” version of the vehicle, but it is still militaristic, if not more aggressive in it’s styling.
But, as always with these things, it’s a wait and see situation. Who knows if those guns are used at all and/or in what manner? I’m sure March 2016 can’t come soon enough for many of you.
I tweaked the contrast to try and give a better idea of that front end in the photo.
