As we’re coming closer to the release of the companion album to Broadway’s Finding Neverland, more promotional tunes are being released from it. The latest to appear online is a track titled “Neverland”, sung by Zendaya, and it now has a lyric video to go by.
The Gary Barlow-crafted track finds Zendaya singing beautifully on top of a piano-driven melody. The faitytale-like ballad is basically an invitation to “Neverland”, as the title suggests. The track is sung by Matthew Morrison in the actual play, but the songstress manages to do it justice with her sweet vocals. The accompanying lyric video is no kind of spectacle, as the lyrics simply appear in front of a stars-filled night sky.
“Neverland” is the third offering to be lifted from Finding Neverland – The Album, following Kiesza’s “Stronger” and Christina Aguilera’s “Anywhere But Here”. Alongside Zendaya, Jennifer Lopez, Trey Songz, John Legend, Ellie Goulding, John Bon Jovi and Rita Ora have contributed to the compilation record among others. The album is expected to come out on June 9. For the time being, take a listen to “Neverland” below.
