“If God exists, then why did he make ugly people?”
This is what model idiot Derek Zoolander asks us in the leaked trailer for the highly-anticipated Zoolander 2, or, “2Lander,” as it is teased in the trailer.
The trailer was pulled from the internet almost immediately after it was leaked Friday (July 31), but not before multiple copies made their way around the Internet, where many still remain. And if the movie itself is anything like the trailer, it’s sure to be hilarious.
If the Stephen Hawking-style voice throws you off, don’t worry; that is indeed how the trailer begins. The one minute and fifty second roller coaster ride of a trailer also features many homages to the first movie (an orange mocha frappucino, a “no left turns” sign, a merman, and a dictionary entry for “eugoogly,” all while “Relax” plays). The trailer ends with Derek himself questioning the film’s title, Zoolander II–“Zoolander eye-eye? …But I’m not Italian.”
If the trailer itself isn’t really, really, ridiculously good-looking enough for you, Zoolander 2 will hit theaters February 12, 2016. We know the trailer isn’t very long, but don’t worry! The real movie will be at least three times bigger.
