Robin Williams’ death? For fellow comedian Conan O’Brien though, he discovered the news while in a rather unique situation: he was taping his Monday night

Where were you when you first heard the news of Robin Williams’ death?

Like thousands of others across the globe, news of the legendary actor’s alleged suicide came to me suddenly through the Twittersphere, and I couldn’t believe what I was reading.

No matter where you were, it didn’t quite change the fact that Robin’s death came like a sudden shock wave which reverberated throughout not just the entire entertainment industry, but the entire world. For fellow comedian Conan O’Brien though, he discovered the news while in a rather unique situation: he was taping his Monday night show.

It’s no secret that nightly shows such as Conan are recorded a few hours ahead of time so that everything can be edited just right for showtime, and news of Robin William’s death just so happened to be coming out as O’Brien was wrapping up the show with Will Arnett and Andy Richter.

What followed was a touching acknowledgment of Robin’s legacy by Conan, Arnett, and Richter which you can watch below. Each of them were visibly affected by the tragedy, with audience members gasping in shock upon O’Brien’s delivering the news.
