Last night, Tony- and Emmy-award-winner Kristin Chenoweth, best known for her role as Glinda in the original broadway cast of Wicked, was honored by writer and producer Robert Harling with the Theatre Artist Award at the 2014 Chairman Awards Gala.
In addition to Wicked, Chenoweth has shown her amazing talent with singing, dancing and acting, giving her fame in Broadway hit shows such as You’re a Good Man Charlie Brown, Steel Pier, The Apple Tree, and Promises, Promises. She has also done a fantastic job on television with shows such as The West Wing and Pushing Daisies.
Her TV show guest appearances include Sesame Street and Glee.
The event took place at New York City’s Pierre Hotel. The evening included special performances from Tony-award-winners Jefferson Mays and Bryce Pinkham, stars from the current hit Broadway musical A Gentleman’s Guide to Love and Murder, and a special appearance from legendary comedian Lily Tomlin.
You can catch Chenoweth this spring as the voice of Gaby, a hilarious frog in Rio 2 and, later on this year, you can catch her alongside Jennifer Lopez in The Boy Next Door.
