Pierce Brosnan’s stepdaughter, Charlotte, has died following a three-year battle with ovarian cancer.
In a statement to People magazine, Brosnan revealed his “darling daughter Charlotte Emily passed on to eternal life” on June 28 and was “surrounded by her husband Alex, children Isabella (age 14) and Lucas (8) and brothers Christopher and Sean.” The James Bond and Mamma Mia actor also reportedly flew back to the UK from filming to be with his family.
Brosnan went on to pay tribute to his adopted daughter saying, “Charlotte fought her cancer with grace and humanity, courage and dignity. Our hearts are heavy family at this difficult time.with the loss of our beautiful dear girl. We pray for her and that the cure for this wretched disease will be close at hand soon. We thank everyone for their heartfelt condolences.”
Charlotte’s mother, actress Cassandra Harris, passed away due to ovarian cancer in 1991, whilst married to Brosnan, her third husband. As a teenager, Harris lost her own mother to the same illness.
